Phase Music seem to be the go to composers for the best that that UK comedy has to offer in 2012. Not only are we fully scoring Channel 4s first ever original animation comedy series written by the genuinely hilarious Harry and Jack Williams and starring Richard Ayoade but weve also been nominated for an Ivor Novello award in the 'Best Television Soundtrack' category for our work on SKY 1's Trollied. Starring Jane Horrocks and Mark Addy Trollied debuted as the most successful multi channel comedy ever and has already been commissioned for a further 2 series for SKY1 and SKY HD. Getting a double series commission is no mean feat and everyone at Phase is eager to get going on the music for series 2 and 3. Also for anyone who's interested theres some new stuff to listen to on Music page.

Seeking Salvage aka Trash to Treasure

This new series is for both Discovery and ITV1 with a different Phase soundtrack for each channel. It follows the fortunes of two salvage yards in the North of England. This a fascinating and rich world, full of great characters, lovely locations, extraordinary items, absorbing back stories, the cut and thrust of deals being done, a counter-intuitive take on tough economic times and, for the first time in a long while, a warm-hearted factual series set in a blue collar male world in the North. This series also finds a UK take on the huge success of American series such as American Pickers and American Pawn Stars.

Genealogist Nick Barratt and the team join the search for recipients who did not know they were entitled to a windfall and bring them the good news.

Superscrimpers

An orchestral theme written by Phase lends a time honoured feel to this series which shows how to scrimp and save in these straitened times. Entrepreneur, journalist and mother-of-three Mrs Moneypenny reveals how to be clever with your cash. Her motto is 'run your family like a business'. Here at Phase we like to 'run our business like a family' so between us and Mrs Moneypenny weve got the whole thing covered...

Jackpot!

Lady Luck smiled on Phase Music in the last quarter of 2010 as they secured the contract to deliver all of the music and sound design for the new look National Lottery programmes, produced by Endemol for BBC1. A real 'fabric of the nation' job, it's a project that everyone at Phase is proud to be part of and the new music should be on our screens in early 2011.

Phase and BDi team up.

With some exciting projects and opportunities coming up right across the media industries in 2011, the collaboration between Phase and BDi promises to be rewarding for everyone involved.

Happy Families.

Just as ludicrously exciting as the The National Lottery is the news that Phase are working on a pilot for an animation series commissioned by E4, called Happy Families. With a nod to the production values and format of Family Guy, Happy Families is set in the UK and written and directed by the incredibly funny and talented Williams brothers, Harry and Jack. Work on the pilot and consequent series is set to start in earnest in the spring and carry on throughout the year. Writing for animation has been a long held ambition at Phase Towers and the brilliant artwork by Alex Scarfe helps make it a perfect start to the year.

Anna and Katy hit our screens

As a natural progression from their critically acclaimed Edinburgh fringe shows, Anna Crilly and Katy Wix have made a tv sketch show crafted under the watchful eye of Ash Attalla for Roughcut TV. The programme is coming to a living room near you in early 2011 and marks the start of what looks like a great year for Roughcut.

The Joy of Teen Sex...

Not content with the joys of the festive season, the staff at Phase treated themselves to some extracurricular bonus action at the Phase Music Christmas party... We jest of course, the header refers to a new up front and brutally honest series aimed at teenagers, commissioned by Channel 4 and produced by Betty. The series takes a no holds barred, uncompromising look at the often confusing world of teen sexuality. All with a first class soundtrack of course...
